I think this name is just plain beautiful. It flows beautifully. If you had this name, compared to other Japanese names, I'm pretty sure you wouldn’t be bullied for it. It sounds beautiful, yet modern.

I like this name, it gives your little girl options. You see, if she lives in japan and America then it seems acceptable and she won't have to go through stigma with having this name for both countries.
There is a plethora of other kanji possibilities for this name. Some examples for "ai": 藍 (indigo) 娃 (beautiful girl) 曖 (dark) And for "mi": 三 (three) 実 (fruit) 心 (heart) 彌 (extensive, full) 水 (water) 生 (life).
Aimi is such a very beautiful name. I guess what appeals to me most about it is its perfect meaning - what female wouldn't want to be named after love and beauty? Aimi also sounds cute and spunky to me. An all-round gorgeous name.

It's not pronounced Amy or it would be spelled Emi and would be made up of different kanji. ai in Japanese is pronounced I as in the letter I or sky. Thus, Aimi is pronounced I-me. There are various other kanji that can be used to make this name as well, so it depends which ones you choose for ai and mi.
