What the flip?! What kind of a name is this? Ælfswip (I had to use a p because the letter isn’t on my keyboard) is going to get so many mispronunciations if you name your child this. I can just see it:
Teacher: May?
May: Here.
Teacher: Jake?
Jake: Here.
Teacher: *hesitates*
Ælfswip: here!
Ughhh... You know nothing of the language you speak! In medieval English, German, Scandinavian languages, and modern Icleandic: The "P thing" is actually called a THORN! Pronounced like a "th" as in THick.
I'm no expert on Anglo-Saxon pronunciations, but I *think* it's pronounced alf-swith.
