I really like Adèle. It's a beautiful-sounding and looking name. I think in the English-speaking world the accent is rather superfluous and would only create problems, but just aesthetically it makes this name look even more sophisticated. I think it's very feminine, international, ages well, and could be a really cool alternative to more popular names like Adeline and all its variations.
Last year (2023), 8 baby girls were given the name Adele in Poland. As of January this year, 126 women in Poland have this name. 58 others have it as their middle.
I love this name so much. It’s very delicate and feminine but also strong and bold somehow, and it is also quite unique. It sounds like the name of an angel.
My friend is Italian and pronounces this name Ad - del - ley. It's her sister's name, actually, but everyone calls her Ade (ah - dey). I really like Ade as a nickname.
This was a common name among 10th-12th century queens and other nobles in present-day France, such as Adela of France (ca 1009-1079) (Latinized version of Adèle de France), mother-in-law of William the Conqueror through her daughter, Matilda of Flanders. Others include Adela/Adèle of Champagne (ca 1140-1206), third wife of King Louis VII, Adèle de Meaux (ca 934-984), wife of Geoffrey Greymantle, Adèle de Vermandois (bef 915-960), wife of Arnulf I of Flanders, and Adèle de Normandie (ca 1067-1137), daughter of William the Conqueror and Matilda of Flanders.
This is my name, spelled Adèle. I was named after my great aunt from Montreal. When I was a child I absolutely hated my name. Being from the UK everyone seemed to think it was an odd name and it wasn't popular in the 80s/90s. I'm now 31 and really appreciate having such a pretty name, and it is still unique, which I like.
This name reminds me of British Singer Adele. She has a beautiful voice and all of her songs are lovely. She is also beautiful herself. Adele is a name with a nice sound, and the spelling is feminine. A great name for a girl.
I knew someone named Adell and the boys at school used to sing to her "a farmer in a-dell".

This is my name and I love it, but it often gets misspelled and even though there's only one way to pronounce it people tend to look at it and ask my how to say it.
I absolutely love this name. It's simple, classy, beautiful sounding, and looks gorgeous written out, not to mention it's strangely uncommon. I prefer this spelling much more than with two L's, but either way is fine.

Actually, Adele is not Mr. Rochester's daughter (as of Chapter 26, at least).
