People say that it sounds like Ebola- do you see an "e" in the name? And it is not a parasite- people who don't know what is behind are insignificant and don't know what is behind it. So if this is your name, it's part of royalty! Be proud of your name even if it was supposed to be an insult. You're unique.

The pronunciation is cool. Nobody (in America anyway) uses the word bimbo anymore except for old men. My only beef with it is that the last few syllables sound a little bit like Ebola. Otherwise, I think it's a pretty fantastical name.
In 2018, 15 is the most common age for an American (U.S.) Abimbola who is registered female with the Social Security Administration. It is the 36, 606th most common female first name for living U.S. citizens. As of 2018, Abimbola is not a statistically significant name for males in the U.S.

The ignorance of some people... it's not an English name for God's sake. The "bimbo" part is pronounced bim-boh, not bim-bow.
This name is a great name. It has a great meaning "born into wealth". I love the name. It is definitely a great name to give a child. It has nothing to do with bimbo. Though that doesn't have a good meaning. The real name is what u are looking for, so don't be bothered by that.

It might sound nice in Yoruba, but in English it looks wrong because it has the word "bimbo" in it. I wouldn't recommend this.
Abimbola Lagunju is the author of "Cyclone of Human Heart", "The Shadow of Rainbow", "The Children of Signatures", "The African in the Mirror" and the "Days of Illusions". He lives and works in Senegal.

The funny thing about this name is that it has bimbo in it.
'Abimbola' is from the Yoruba of Nigeria, West Africa. The real meaning of the name 'Abimbola' is 'Born with honor'. Ola (accent:re mi) in 'Abimbola' does not mean wealth it means honor. Ola (accent:re do) means wealth. The meaning is not in the word, but the accent. Thank you.
