Good name. Abel is the son of Adam and Eve whom was killed by his brother Cain due to the jealousy that God rejected his offering while God accepted Abel's offering in Bible. Have one my middle school classmates whom is 2 years younger than me named Abel who is sweetheart. Charming name...
Love this name, sounds easy and was the first person that was killed by his own brother (Cain) in the Bible, have a lot of biblical meaning too, love it so much.
My name is Abel, and I find it unique in Romania, not so many people having this name. I like it, and near my other specific Romanian name, it gives me more personality. My whole name is unique in the world. :)
I had no idea this was a masculine type name! Back in elementary school, there was a boy (my best friend today) named Abel. Lots of people picked on him and said it was a girl name (mainly because it rhymes with Mable) but boy, were they wrong.

Always sounds too close to "A beer" for my liking.

I had no idea this name was this popular. There's some kid named Abel in my class, which is actually the first time I've ever heard the name (despite being a Christian, I know), and I thought it was spelled like Abol or Able or something. :P.
I personally hesitate to use this name because of the biblical Abel, who is killed by his brother Cain (well, I would never use Cain/Kane/etc. because of this, but Abel brings up that negative fratricide association for me too). Strikes me as very cool, hipsterish, with many great namesakes, is a great name to use for others who probably don't have the same association that I have.

I like this in English even though it sounds old fashioned and it doesn't have any good nicknames. Oddly enough I also like the name Cain. But I'm not going to use either, so no need to worry.
