Sounds like abandoned. IT IS ABANDONED.
I quite enjoy this name. It gives off a powerful vibe, as if the bearer of the name was a great conqueror.
Perhaps it could be used for a villainous character in a fantasy novel.
Why is the meaning so dark? Not the best name in the world if you ask me! Also, I can't stop thinking about the word abandon, which is like, the worst thing ever. Sorry if I offended anyone.
The bible uses this name to refer to the angel from the bottomless pit. It means 'the destroyer'.
Please the bible wasn't referring to Jesus but to a demon from hell.
Silly.
Abandon, sorry.
Looks bad, has a bad meaning, and I just don't like it.
Cool meaning! Definitely a good name.
Do not listen to the commenter below me. This is a terrible name. And...it seems like abandon.
A lot of people are talking about how it sounds like abandon. One of my favorite characters from Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson has a name similar to abandon. So I don't know, just read Mistborn. Names that sound like abandon aren't that bad.
I love it! It's badass and, in the words of my pen pal, a "really f'n cool name."
I'm trans and I named myself Abaddon. I go by Donny for short.
I wouldn't personally recommend naming your kid after a demon.
Terrible meaning! Plus, it reminds me of the word "abandon".
At Revelation 9:11, Abaddon, the Angel of the Abbyss is referred to as a king, this means that he is in fact Jesus Christ, the only angel to have that title.
I like how it sounds and its meaning, but no way I could name my kid like that. More for a pet or a character.
Looks and sounds like Abandon.
Sorry, but this name is depressing! It sounds like “abandon” and the meaning is also not so good. But I’ve seen worse names on this website. It’s okay, but if you name a kid something that sounds like “abandon” AND it means ruin and destruction, it means you probably want to abandon him and destroy him (no puns intended). Sorry if I gave this name crap!
Abaddon, or the Destroyer, the main antagonist and final boss of the 2010 hack-and-slash game Darksiders.
Abaddon was one of the demons in The Master and Margarita by Mikhail Bulgakov.
The name makes me think of the word abandon, and it makes me think of the word bad, and the meaning is quite dark. I won't use it for a child, but I might use it for a character.
The last Knight of Hell on the supernatural series (cw).
In the Blue Bloods novels there is a vampire named Jack whose fallen angel name is Abaddon.
I love this name! It would be so cool for a little boy. I'm not very religious, so this doesn't have quite the biblical effect as it probably would on other people.
Pronounced "ab-ad-DOHN" in Hebrew.
Although the meaning is quite dark, I like it as a middle name!
Abaddon is one of the infernal names used in LaVeyan Satanism, and is first in the list — only as it comes first alphabetically — and means "the destroyer."
Abaddon (band), a Polish band.
Abaddon (demon), chief of the demons of the seventh hierarchy.
Abaddon the Despoiler, a character in the Warhammer 40, 000 fictional universe

Pseudonym of Tony Bray, drummer in black metal band Venom
In the season one finale of the "Doctor Who" spin-off, "Torchwood," this monster is the thing that has apparently been hiding in the Cardiff Rift. I know for one I'm never naming a child this. I just get this image of a giant demon stomping around Cardiff, killing everyone who gets in his shadow. Nooo way, man.
Personally, I wouldn't use this name. It sounds a little too much like the word "abandon". Abandoning your child doesn't seem too nice, does it?
