Re: Ebba's adoption agency
Congratualations Elise and Brandon!
Your new children are six year old Gretchen Annie, five year old Benjamin Jacob, 13 month old Cara Rhianna and their cousins five year old Megan Amber and three year old Spencer Jack.Gretchen, Megan, Benjie, Spencer and Cara were rescued last year from a cult camp that their parents belonged to. The cult was judged to be dangerous and damaging for the children so they were immediatly removed along with ten others. It would be good if we could keep these close cousins together.Gretchen is a fiery red head and often jumps into things without thinking of the consequences. However despite this she is a caring girl who mothers the younger children. Gretchen seems to be pleased to be going to a new home and to be leaving the nasty people behind.Megan is another little red head but is alot quieter than her cousin. reading and drawing are her passions and she often withdraws from social situations and escapes into a world in her head that is safe. Megan needs support to help her cope better in social situations and to make friends.Benjie has just turned four and this cheeky red head will keep you on your toes, diagnosed with ADHD he is currently on Ritalin but this is under review.Spencer is a beautiful blue eyed, blond little boy who like is sister Megan is very quiet and shy. He seems scared of being loud and active and needs to be encouraged to shout and scream and run about like normal little boys of his age.Cara is a happy contente bay who doesn't make a fuss. We are worried that she may be behind in her language development as she hasn't uttered a sound yet except to cry. This is something that will need to be monitered. The cousins will be a lively addition to your home and once settled down and aclimatised to a more normal way of life should be a pleasure to have around. Please tell me how Gretchen, Megan, Benjie, Spencer and Cara get on with you.

Gretchen has lovely hair and she loves for me to do it in the morning. She really does mother the younger ones and has settled in really well. She never takes us for granted and seems really happyif we just read her a story at night.Megan is very good at drawing, but she is a bit withdrawn. We are coping with this and hopefully are helping her by playing whenever she gets like that. She already has two good friends at school who have been round a couple of times.Benjie is so cheeky but ever so cute! His ADHD is getting steadily worse but we don't mind as he is so lovable. He seems to be calming down at bedtime quicker now for some reason.Spencer is gorgeous! He is quiet but talks a lot, though quietly, at home now. We are encouraging him to scream at the park and Benjie is always loud.Cara has picked up simple words since being here, but we take her to a speech therapist now as well.**miss_smiley**

Thankyou for telling me how Gretchen, Megan, Benjie, Spencer and Cara are doing.I am glad Gretchen has settled down so well with you, it is nice to hear she is helping you with the littler children. It sounds like Megan is starting to come out of her shell a little, which is encouraging news, i am very pleased that she has already made friends at school. Benjie has always been the most 'difficult' of the these cousins and it sounds like it might be advisable to review his medication, this might have some benefits for him in the long run.
Perhaps he is calmer at bedtime because it is a structured time? he knows exactly what will happen in certain orders and times. ADHD kids react well to routines. I am also gald to hear that Cara has started to say few things and that you are investing time and energy in a speech therapist for her.
Good luck to you and Gretchen, Megan, Benjie, Spencer and Cara.
