Amy had lived in the kingdom her whole life, raised by her bitter, man-hating grandmother. The old cook had blamed Amy's father and grandfather for just about everything that was wrong with either of their lives. When her grandmother died, Amy took over the kitchen, expecting to work there and remain alone for the rest of her life.
She absolutely didn't expect to fall in love with a visiting jester. The Amazing Ren was just so charming and funny, handsome even with his big ears and crooked grin. The two courted for months and finally married. Since the court had taken such a shine to Ren's antics, they offered to have him stay on as their official entertainer. Ren and Amy moved into her grandmother's small cottage and went about starting their life together.
