For the past six years of their marriage, Henry has been cheating on Winifred with a younger woman named Emma. The couple has had three children together. The mere thought of her husband cheating on her has rattled Winifred to the core, but she knows for the sake of her family, she must say with Henry. She has given him an ultimatum: leave Emma, or she takes the kids and leaves. She has assured him that once she leaves, he will not be able to find her or their 8 kids. He chooses to stay with Winifred, but asks that Emma leave their children with him. She agrees if he pays her a handsome sum. After handing over the money, Andrew, Everett, and Vivian come to live with Henry and Winifred. Winifred has grown to love the children in her own way, but it will take time before she can get over the fact that these are her husband's mistress's children and that Emma was pregnant with Vivian at the same time that she was pregnant with little Gordon.
