I have however heard the surname Emmett used as a given name; it is stressed on the first syllable (and I would guess Emet is on the second), but if namers are used to hearing Emmett then Emet might not seem like much of a stretch.

The Hebrew vocabulary word EMET is also stressed on the first syllable

Sorry, I was wrong and you were right ...I looked it up and realised that it is e-MET as you had guessed. Sorry!
