I would question this site's pronounciation for Sian, as it's actually SHARN, not SHAN (making Siana SHARNA, and, I think, Siani SHARNEE (although I've never met anyone named Siani)).
Rhian is also pronounced REE-ann, not RY-ann.

So, "SHAN" = "SHAHHHHHN"
(where the "A" is the same as in "father", but not "happy").
In other words, I think we all agree.

Nope, have a look at the pronunciation key . . .
Mike C and Miranda live in the same part of Canada, so their pronunciations are identical, and Mike's 'a' is the 'a' in 'bat'. The 'a' in 'father' is represented by 'ah'.
I also believe Mike's pronunciation guide for Sian is wrong - I've only ever heard SHAHN or SHAWN (and the last I've only heard once, on a girl who was named Sian long before it became trendy).
