The "industrious" interpreation comes from someone who is thinking of Mila as a short form of Amelia. It is certainly probable that in English-speaking countries, where we pronounce the middle of Amelia to rhyme with "meal", Mila has occasionally been used as a pet form of Amelia. But that would be one of the rarer possible origins.
