I need help!!!!! with the name Mila !!!! Please!!!
Hi, on the BTN database says the name Mila is the short form of either Miloslava, Ludmila or Emilia. Does anyone know which of these is the name Mila is short for? Also, was mentioned that it coincides with the Serbian, Croatian and Bulgarian word Mila meaning "dear, pleasant" Also, on another website it had said the meaning of the name Mila was Industrious. I am desperately trying to find out everything I can about this name. The meaning, orgin and which name Mila is short for. I have been trying to research it myself but it's been leaving me confused. Please any information you can give me about the name Mila is most appreciated. I am tring to find out everything I possibly can about this name. Thank you so much in advance. It is much appreciated :)~* Reality is for those who lack Imagination *~

The "industrious" interpreation comes from someone who is thinking of Mila as a short form of Amelia. It is certainly probable that in English-speaking countries, where we pronounce the middle of Amelia to rhyme with "meal", Mila has occasionally been used as a pet form of Amelia. But that would be one of the rarer possible origins.

I apologize for seeming rushed. Thank you for your input. I misunderstood and thought that it was short for one or the other and I was like how am I ever going to know which name it is short for. Or the correct meaning for that matter. And I needed to know. But I guess maybe since it could be short for all those names it can have different orgins and meanings. So do I just pick the one I want it to be short for then basically? lol :)

Okay. The database states that it's a nickname for all of those names, not just one. Second: What other websites? Most babyname websites are unreliable. Fourth: Because Mila is a nickname for so many different names, its meaning is therefore undetermined.Nell is a perfect example - it can be a nickname for Helen, Penelope, Elinor. Therefore, no set meaning.

You missed third :)so, I'll add it:
Third: What is the emergency that prompted the word "desperately" and the use of n-teen exclamation marks?
