They're probably only meant as translations of historical figures' names. Same goes for mythological ones. For example, the Portuguese form of Cerberus is Cérbero, but I've never heard it used as a name. Even in Brazil, where a lot of names that are strictly historical or mythological in Portugal have been given to real people, there are limits to it.

I don't know anything about the Sakizaya people, but I'm pretty sure that they have no historical connection to Charlemagne an Aristotle, as Franks and ancient Greeks had no contact with Taiwan.
