As for babycenter, their list says "Our data comes from hundreds of thousands of parents who shared their baby's name with us in 2009."
Well, who were these parents? They weren't a random sample of the USA or the world. You can tell they aren't a random sample of the USA because of the lack of mostly Hispanic names on the list. For example, if they had a proportionate number of Hispanics, Angel would almost certainly be on their top 100 list, as it will almost certainly be on the top 100 SSA list when it comes out in May.
