Autor, not Artor
in reply to a message by Chrisell
Autor (not Artor) is a variant of Auctor, from the Latin auctor, "one who augments" (from augeo, "to augment, to magnificy").
There are two saint Auctor:
saint Auctor, bishop of Metz (V c.) (name day August 10), and
saint Auctor, bishop of Treveris (V c.) (name day August 20).
