Well, it's obviously a compound. Leigh is the easy bit - meadow, stretch of grassland. Cherry could be the fruit, making you a meadow in which cherry trees grow, or it could be the French cherie = dear, beloved. Take your pick! (I'd prefer the fruit, but that's just me ...)
