Shrilda's family background is German and Dutch. Also has a very strong Indian family history. Since her mother has long since passed away, she never really got a chance to ask her where she got the name.

p.s. I wonder if it's related to the Germanic name Hilda....

.....which this site says is derived from the German element "hild" (battle). Shrilda seems to have been a fairly common name in the U.S. 50 to 100 years ago.
