I adore your list.
Ada -- I love short names where the vowel sounds outnumber the consonants.
Adela /
Adelina -- I've long waited for
Adele to catch on. These are equally fetching.
Barbara -- I didn't love this name until I saw
Wendy Hiller in "
Major Barbara." Rent it and hopefully you'll see what I mean.
Cora /
Corinna /
Corinne -- I agree. These have great potential for 2007.
Frances /
Francine /
Francesca -- I agree about
Francesca, although I long for
Francisca to get her due too.
Georgia -- Hasn't this one already caught on? Once I saw a character on
Ally McBeal named
Georgia I assumed it had. I also heard it in a romantic comedy as a potential name for a child.
Joanna --
Johanna is a family name for me, so I'd love to see
Joanna come back.
Ruby -- I grew up watching Masterpiece Theater. Have you seen Upstairs / Downstairs and the character of
Ruby? She's the scullery maid and I fell in love with the name just from watching her.
Molly --
Molly was very popular in the 80's / 90's, wasn't it?
Sally -- The world needs more Sallys.
Nancy --
My mother (Anna)'s nn.
Betsy -- I know a
Betsy in her 40's. So cute.
Nellie -- I had a great-Aunt
Nellie. So sweet.
Thanks for taking time to respond to my thread. :-)
