It reminds me of Captain Kirk from Star Trek and Dr. Kirk Honda from the YouTube channel Psychology in Seattle.
The only Kirk I know personally is a bald retiree who lives the winter in Arizona and summer in Montana. He speaks in a stilted way and is an easygoing guy.
The style seems mid-century mod to me. It seems sort of wholesome and quaint but not in a saccharine way, more sturdy minimalist.
eta: I do associate it with and prefer it to Kurt / Curt, like RoxStar mentioned. I don't think I've actually met a Kurt, though. I also prefer it to Dirk; it's less cheesy.
