I only like it as vee-O-luh. I find 'vee' so much more appealing. Really beautiful, and bright, plus it eliminates the 'vile' sound, and gives way to nns like Via or just V. Either way, I'm also surprised it's not more popular, although it's been in and out of the top 1000 where I live.

I say VY-o-la not VY-la so I don't get a "vile" sound but I guess some people say it differently because I say VY-o-let for Violet but I heard it as VY-let.

There isn't really a vile sound with Viola, even when I say it. I think it's just more there than the 'vee' one haha. I'm realising I might like 'vee' more because it separates the syllables more distinctly and I find that easier to say.
