I love Blanche pronounced in French, but hate it in English. It always reminds me of blanching vegetables, and it would be impossible to escape the "grandmotherly" associations due to Golden Girls (no foul against it, it's a wonderful show.)

Blanca is pretty to me, though I can see how it might sound clunky. Bianca is a beautiful name, but it has a very preppy association that makes me tend to favor against it.
