Bianca. I think it looks and sounds prettier. Blanche has such a harsh sound to my ears. I don't like Blanca either.

Bianca is my sister's name and I actually really like it as a name, it's uncommon but not unusual. I find it pretty. Blanche on the other hand is very surnamey and sounds rough to me. I don't like Blanca either, it sounds like you're trying to say "blanket" rather than a name. I'm pronouncing Bianca as bee-ANK-ah (I'm Aussie).

Really tough to say. I don't like either. They are tied.

I really love both Blanche and Bianca. My preference ranking probably goes like this:Blanche (French prn) - Nothing beats this for loveliness.
Bianca - Elegant and sophisticated.
Blanche (English prn) - Maybe a trifle harsh sounding but I'm fond of retro names.
Blanca - I don't know, I don't like it all that much. It's a bit heavy-sounding, I guess. I can see it growing on me, though.

I like Bianca because it sounds exotic. Blanche is very Golden Girls. Blanca is mysterious.

Bianca, Blanche sounds boring

Definitely Bianca. Blanche sounds like an old lady or just the word blanch, and it's too ugly to even sound like a name in my accent.
Blanca is better than Blanche, but it's still very wordy. Bianca seems more namey to me and doesn't have that "Bl" which makes me think of "blah" or "bleh".
(I know Bianca is just as wordy, but for some reason when I see "Bianca" I think "that's a name" vs. with Blanca it's just "ok, that says white")

I've always been fond of Bianca, I think it's quite pretty. Blanche is nice too but a bit too rough for me, though I do love the associate to the Golden Girl. She was my favorite. Blanca is a nice in-between. I've never know a Bianca or Blanche in real life but I've known to Blancas, worked with one, and I grew to like it.

Bianca hands down. Blanche has a horrible sound as it exits the mouth. Blaaaaanche. Leave the Blanche to the vegetables.

Defiantly Bianca, but I can’t really say I was a fan. Blanca is better than Blanche.

Blanche is wonderful... when pronounced the French way. If we're considering Blanche as a French name, then it would be my pick. However, said with an ending "tsh" instead of "sh" makes the name sound unbelievably miserable. (So it's obvious how I feel about the English variant Blanch as a name.) If we're considering Blanche as an English name, then Bianca wins - though not without caveats. Bianca is mellifluous enough, but something about the name... idk, it gives the impression of an attitude problem. This could be because of the Taming of the Shrew (and by extension 10 Things I Hate About You) character. Can't say I'm a fan of Blanca, though, sorry. It reminds me of blanket. It's better than English Blanche / Blanch, though!

I love both Blanche and Bianca. I know that a lot of people find the English pronunciation of Blanche horrible but I don’t. I just think the name is beautiful, no matter what. Bianca is a name I also really like. The ‘anc’ sound is very appealing. I don’t like Blanca one bit, though. It sounds evil (if you can say that about a name).

Bianca. Blanche sounds stiff, and I'm not fond of the Tennessee Williams character, plus the BLANCH pronunciation is hideous. Blanca sounds a bit sad, much less lively than Bianca.

Bianca! It's more youthful than Blanche, which will forever be tied to the Golden Girls for me. Not that it's a bad thing, though; in fact, Blanche was my favorite character! But I digress. Definitely Bianca, and I wish it was used more in English-speaking countries.

Definitely Bianca, though I prefer Blanca to it. Blanche’s English pronunciation is absolutely fugly.

I love Blanche pronounced in French, but hate it in English. It always reminds me of blanching vegetables, and it would be impossible to escape the "grandmotherly" associations due to Golden Girls (no foul against it, it's a wonderful show.)Blanca is pretty to me, though I can see how it might sound clunky. Bianca is a beautiful name, but it has a very preppy association that makes me tend to favor against it.

BlancheBianca sounds pretty cacophonous to me; I guess it's the "onk" sound. I know many find Blanche cacophonous, but I've never felt that way.Blanca's better than Bianca, but I still prefer Blanche.

My sister is Bianca, and here we do not have the "onk" sound, it's definitely with an A sound. With the "onk" I agree it's unattractive.

Oh, okayWhere are you from? I'm from New York.

I figured it was an American accent because that's how I've heard it said in American films. I'm in England. It would be interesting for me to know the Italian pronunciation.

What A sound do you use? Because "ank" and "onk" as in "honk" sound pretty much the same to me.

In my accent, ank and onk are completely different sounds.Bianca, in a southern English accent, (which I have) rhymes with anchor.
