Re: Baylor?
I think Baylor is an adorable name for a little boy. Its on my short list. On a girl?? NMS, but if you like it, go for it!! I want to use Tristan for little girl and everyone hated that idea, but you know what?? I like it and I probably will use it. You have to realize that you are the one thats going to be using this name day in and day out (as well as your child). Bay is a cute nn too. I don't live anywhere near Texas, so maybe that makes a difference.

I don't mean to comment negative about your choice of Tristan, but for a girl have you considered Trista or some other feminine form instead of Tristan? I just think that Tristan should stay a boy's name when there's other related names for girls available.

Try thinking of it this way: A name is an assigned sound, at the end of the day. It isn't a material possession. One person who uses it is not "taking" it from someone else. The idea that boys' parents are being somehow robbed when a girl's parents choose a traditionally male name is, simply, incorrect.
