Re: Choose a nickname for...

Dorothea nn Thea is my favorite but Dot and Dottie are also cute nn's. Cordelia nn Corie or Cora is my second favorite. Also nice are Lucinda nn Lucy or Cindy, Cassandra nn Cass, Cassie, or Sandy, Allegra nn Allie, Petronella nn Nell and Nellie or Petra or Pennie, Susanna nn Susie and Suz, Margaret nn Maggie or Mags or Meg or Peggy or Pearl, Caroline nn Callie, and Frederica nn Freddie - Erica could also work for Frederica but I'm not a fan of it.Valentina nn Tina or Val, Angelina nn Angie or Lina, and Patricia nn Trish are okay/ fairly nice - not a fan of Pat or Patty unless for a boy named Patrick.I love many of the nn's for Elizabeth but the name is too popular and a bit bland. Anastasia I'm not a fan of but I like Ana or Sia and Stacy is fairly cute.I like Geraldine, Victoria, Morgana, and Sabina but the nn's are just okay. Geraldine nn Dina, Dean, Gerry, or Gera could all work. Sabina nn Bean/ Bine or Sabre are kind of cool but I don't feel like Sabina needs a nn. Morgana nn Ana, Mora, or Morgie could all work. Torie/ Tory for Victoria is the best of the bunch but I'm really not a fan of any of the Victoria nn's and all the Victoria's I've known well have used no nn's.
For boys my favorite is Lysander nn Sandy. Melchior nn Mel is also fairly cool. Robert nn Robin is nice or no nn, but I'm not a fan of Bert and Bertie, or Rob and Robby, or Bob and Bobby.Francis nn Frank or Frankie or Cissy or no nn is just okay, not my fave. I can't think of any nn's for Achilles or Florian or Constantine that I like. Constantine nn Stan is okay, I'm not a fan of Con or Conny.Alexander, Michael, and Nicholas are all fairly bland but I like their nn's - Alexander especially has a ton of great nn's.
TL;DR
My favorites are Dorothea nn Thea and Lysander nn Sandy.

Margaret nn Pearl - I love nick-names that are not direct short forms of the formality - especially when the " 'distant' diminutive" is universally recognized.
