I don't think it is better than Jane. Personal associations - Rocky Horror, a woman I worked with who could be really rude sometimes, Janet Jackson - it sounds harsh to me.Jeannette would be juh-NET or jeen-NET in my accent, not the same as Janet (JAN-et). I like it zha-NET like in French too. Jane > Jeannette > JanetOh, and there's also Janae, which looks to me like a phonetic spelling of an American's attempt to say Janet in French. heh. Jeannette > Janae > Janet although I know Janae is much flimsier than Janet.- mirfak
