Me, I prefer Sky on a girl and with an e.
Skye.
I know some people have said "why the e?" but it makes me think of the Isle of Skye, and so I like it. I like it better than Sky as in the blue sky up there, even though the sound is the same.
Skylar/Skyler I also like, though again I know lots of people don't... it could work either on a boy or girl for me. If I was shortening Skylar though, I'd just use Sky without the E.
