I like it a lot better now that I live in the Midwest and not every other girl/woman is named Caroline (in fact I'm the only Caroline I know of here!).
If I weren't a Caroline, I don't think I'd like it enough to use it for my daughter, just because I'm not a huge fan of the image it brings forth in my mind, but I like it well enough.
I like it a lot as a middle name, especially for Eliza and Louisa. I wonder why it never got commandeered for a middle name? It works almost as well as Elizabeth or Nicole or Grace or Lynn.

Does your name ever get shortened? That's my only worry about the name Caroline.
Btw. Louisa Caroline is a gorgeous combo (although it does make me think of Bingham's two sisters in Jane Austen's P&P)

nope, always Caroline unless it's family and then mostly Caroline
