They're far too close for my liking. I'd be too polite to say it, but I'd presume you'd named your son after yourself and I wouldn't exactly find it cute. It's basically the same reason I wouldn't name a son Alistair, even though I really like the name. Sure, Alisha and Alistair only share the "Al" sound when said aloud, but they share five letters: Alisha, Alistair.

Really? You don't like the idea of people naming their children after themselves? If you married a John Smith III, would you put your foot down to it being passed on? Just curious as to your opinions, as always. :)

Yes, I'd put my foot down to John Smith IIII. I'd be okay with John being in the middle name spot, August John Smith or something, but that's it.
