It seems as thought the "al-iss" sound happens at the end of a name, but I can't put my finger on it. The only thing that came to mind is a chrysalis (insect pupa), but please don't use that. It's driving me batty. Amaryllis?
Alice originally comes from Adelheidis / Adelheid. So you could try one of those.
