Re: Raymond
I grew up with an annoying boy named Raymond, and I've known more than a few Raymonds that went by Ray that were less than stellar gentlemen. :-/ But I also know a sweet little boy named Raymond now, and it was also the name of a sweet elderly man I knew. I like it, but I'm not crazy about Ray (though it's growing on me more, thanks to Array :b). Raymond John isn't bad--actually the little boy I know, his little brother is John nn Jack--but I'm not crazy about John as a mn in general. It sounds out of place and abrupt to me for some reason (maybe because it's so common as a fn?).
