Schuyler spelled this way is a boyish name to me; it looks like a surname (I guess it's actually a word name?).
I'd definitely spell it that way on a boy but never on a girl; Skylar is a girlier version to me. Skyler is more unisex to me.Schuyler and Lark aren't too bad together; the sound "sky" and the word "lark" is a pretty farfetched connection, in my opinion. - chazda

yesSchuyler IS a surname (Dutch) and means "one who seeks shelter" Nowadays, it is a word, a verb spelled "schuilen" (Ik (i) schuil, hij (he) schuilt, wij (we) schuilen). schuylen is the old spelling of schuilen, so Schuyler is a person who seeks shelter...
