It might be still dated? I'm not a fan, personally, but I also don't see it growing in popularity like Margot in an objective sense.
I prefer Jeannette and Jeannie and Annette
Though I admit I like Janette a lot more as in my accent, Janet succumbs to the glottal stop while Janette does not, hence its prettier in sound
