I love it!
It's the name of a person who was very important to me. She was almost like my grandmother, and she helped me out with the kids a lot while I was going through a rough time. (She helped with a bunch of things besides my kids during that time, actually.) Sadly, Aunt
Kathy passed away a few years ago, after a battle with Cancer.
My daughter is named
Katherine Alexandria, after my "aunt"
Kathy, and my great-aunt
Alexandria.
(My daughter goes by
Kate occasionally. She prefers
Katherine, though. Her dad calls her
Kat and
Kitty, because she loves cats.)
Without the personal associations, I still love the name. It's a classic and elegant name, and it has several nicknames, which is nice, if a nickname is needed.
