THAT is the only pronunciation I have ever heard. Perhaps it is a regional thing. I don't know. Your pronunciation does sound "somewhat" better, but I thought you wanted to know what responders first instinct was on pronunciation. vie-OH-lah is mine.

I think "VIE-uh-lah" is a Shakespearean thing.

I agreeVie-Oh-lah is always the pronunciation I have heard. Vee-O-lah I think may be incorrect.

I am almost positive in any country where the long i sound is rarely used (Romance languages), Vie-oh-lah is not way it's pronounced.
