I like it as a nn for Martin if it's for a boy. It's one of those unisex names that I've seen more for girls than boys, somehow, both short for Margaret and Martha (on family friends, Marti & Marty). And my parents have a dog I named Marti almost 10 years ago. My friend and I found her in the parking lot of a Quickie Mart type place so Marti was her "temporary" name, but it stuck around and so did she. :b
