Marty
I just watched Back to the Future on TV, and fell heads over heels in love with the name Marty. WDYT?

I like it as a nn for Martin if it's for a boy. It's one of those unisex names that I've seen more for girls than boys, somehow, both short for Margaret and Martha (on family friends, Marti & Marty). And my parents have a dog I named Marti almost 10 years ago. My friend and I found her in the parking lot of a Quickie Mart type place so Marti was her "temporary" name, but it stuck around and so did she. :b
It's great! Martin's very distinguished and handsome (I'm assuming that's what you'd like to use Marty as a nickname for), and Marty's so fun. Plus how frickin' adorable is it on Michael J. Fox?! :D
Some combo suggestions for Martin, if your interested:
Martin Daniel
Martin Eric
Martin Oliver
Martin Peter
Martin Samuel
Martin Gabriel
Martin Isidore
Martin Theodore
Martin Walter
Martin George - Both McFly's. :D
Martin Christopher
Martin Edward
Martin Felix
Martin Kelly - I normally wouldn't suggest this, but I think it fits with the ever so masculine Martin.
Martin Kelsey - Same as above
Martin Lysander - One of my favorite combos for a while was Marta Lysandra "Marty", so I guess this is the masculine version
Martin Demetrius
Martin Frederick
Martin Cassander
Martin Alexander
Martin Salvatore / Salvador
Martin Justus

I agree, Martin Kelly is definitely cool :)
I think it's a bit nerdy but with some kind of appeal that I can't quite put my finger on. Maybe it's that it seems like something so common and average but doesn't actually appear anywhere anymore. It sounds like the kind of thing I'd name one of my pets (their names being Chet, Ted, Bill, etc).
I like it. :-) I enjoy it as a nickname for Martin or Martina.
