I kept Aubrey and used the W in William and changed it to Whitney. Is this OK?

No. You can't split the name up between the twins.

For example:
The name given to you was William Aubrey.

Twin 1 could be Wade Anthony (kept the initials but changed the names).
Twin 2 could be William Charles (kept the fn but changed the mn).

Essentially, you treat each twin as a separate person. You use the same name for both, but you can use different naming rules.

So, I kept the middle name for twin one, and kept the initials for twin two. Is this right?
