If an individual chooses to go by the full form of their name, then I will respect that, and all power to them.
My mum is Vivian, and she will only answer to Vivian, she hates the short form Viv.
I have a cousin who is Rebecca, who dislikes Becky and Becca, so chooses to go by her given name. I have to say, I also prefer Rebecca to either of those two short forms.
