I'm trying to use names I wouldn't normally pick this time around:Round One:
Adam and I were married two weeks ago. Jon is a popular children's writer- he's currently writing a mystery series. Our wedding ceremony was beautiful- early September is really a beautiful time to have a wedding. The reception was fun, too. While I don't think the marriage has changed our relationship, it's nice to know it's official. I work as a pediatrician at the local hospital. It's fun because a lot of my patients know my husband's books- some have even read them!Round Two:
Eight months ago, we discovered that I was pregnant! At first, I had no morning sickness, but after awhile, I had terrible back pain and was forced to go on maternity leave at seven months, on bedrest at thirty-seven weeks. But the end result was one of the best moments of my life! A week ago, our first daughter, Lola Jacqueline was born. She has dark, thick hair and big brown eyes. She's beautiful! It was so amazing to me how Adam can "catch" Lola as she comes out, clean her off, then give her back to me so she can nurse. Birth is a beautiful, beautiful thing. We have also decided to adopt a sibiling for Lola from a different country. We were thinking from Poland- that's where my grandfather came from and Adam's mother came from. I think it's a really great oppurtunity for us. Round Three:
We didn't mean to get pregnant- were were thinking of waiting another year and seeing how the adoption worked out, but the baby was out before the adoption papers were signed! Similar to my first pregnancy, I had back pain throughout the second and third trimesters. However, it wasn't as severe as the first time. Margot Daisy was born! Lola loved having a little sister at first, but since Margot is so much work (she's a bit of a loud baby!) Lola is upset that we can't give her as much attention. We're trying to even things out, though.
Finally, we adopted Adriana Zofia, a one-year-old from Poland. She plays very well with Lola and Margot! Round Four:
Lola is six and starting first grade. She loves school, especially Art class, where she excels. Adriana starting Kindergarten. She's very shy in school, but at home, she's crazy and wild with her two sisters. Her teacher, Ms. Willand, is working to make her feel more comfortable with the other children. Margot is is preschool and jealous of her older sisters who are in "big girl school." However, Margot has become quite the ballerina and always prancing around, pirouetting from room to room! Finally, we adopted a little terrier, (also a girl- Adam's going insane!) named Mimi. She's very friendly and loves kids! The girls are having a blast with her.Round Five:
We thought our days of changing diapers were over, but we were wrong- double wrong! It's twins! During my pregnancy, we moved to support our growing family. The house is great- it has five bedrooms and three bathrooms! If I thought I was big before- and I was monsterous in size- I am almost twice the size now! I can just barely wrap my arms around my stomach and can't even sit down at the table, my bump is too big! Finally, Evan James and Isla Charlotte were born! Lola (seven,) Adriana (six,) and Margot (five,) love them! It's a big change, having two newborns in the house! I have left my job to take care of my family, as it is much too big to do part-time! Adam agrees with me, and besides, his newest book was a big hit, so we're financially in a good place. What we didn't know when Adriana was adopted, was that she had an older sister! We decided to adopt her. She's three years older than Adriana- nine years old. Welcome Irena Helena! She looks just like Adriana, curly golden-brown hair, sweet hazel eyes, and heart-shaped face, but with a totally different personality! She's out-going like Lola- and I have to say, they sometimes compete! Adriana and Irena are like two peas in a pod, despite their age difference- they love being with eachother! She speaks perfect English, too. Finally, Irena is like the mother of the group, protecting Evan and Isla, entertaining Lola, Margot, and Adriana. Round Six:
Our family is great! True to when they were little, Lola has become a fantastic artist and Margot, a prima ballerina! Now that Mimi is five, we've bought another dog, also a terrier, to keep her company. His name is Snufulupucus, dubbed by Evan, a big Sesame Street fan. We call him Snuffie for short. :) Irena has followed Adam's footsteps and become an amazing writer. She's a bit embarrassed by her talent, and rarely shows us any of her personal writing, but her compositions and essays for school are amazing! Round Seven:
Irena: At 32, Irena is married to a Polish-American man, Aron, and is a writer. She has four-year-old triplets, two boys and girl, Owen, Zachary, and Jessica, expecting her fourth child, another girl, and is in the process of adopting a six-year-old boy from Poland!
Lola: Lola is 30 and is engaged to a man named Will. They seem very happy together and their wedding is next month! She has a degree in counseling and is currently a high school guidance counselor.
Adriana: Adriana moved to Poland to go to college, but now, 29, is moving back. She says that while she tried so hard to fit in, after all, she is Polish, she realized that adoption is just another way to make a family, and that she is American.
Margot: At twenty-eight, Margot has finally dropped her dream of being a ballerina for a new one- a photographer. She loves walking around New York City and taking photos- her first show was last year and her career has only escalated since then!
Evan: Evan is 23 and has just graduated from college. He graduated with a major in teaching and is going to become a math teacher at the high school that he went to! He is dating a girl, Jennifer, and it sounds pretty serious!
Isla: Isla is also 23 and has moved to California to go to college and has decided to stay there, for the time being. She is single, but has a great time with her friends on the beach!- MelissaArielle Norah
