Round One!
John Elijah "Jack" and I got married two weeks ago. Pure bliss. We love being married to each other and couldn't imagine anything different. Jack is a lawyer for an international law firm that handles all sorts of high priority cases. It's a high pressure job, but Jack doesn't let that faze him. As for me, I work in the pharmaceutical (sp?) department of a CVS. It's not glamorous, but it pays well. I like that Jack is doing great things as far as justice goes, but I'm not thrilled about his getting national attention when he does it...especially if he ever messes up. Yes, people treat me a little differently where I work, but its mostly the coworkers and they're full of fun.
Round Two!
I can't believe Jack and I have been married for 1 and a half years already. What makes it more unbelieveable is that we just welcomed our first child into the world. Nicole Emberlyn, or "Nikki" was born on Janurary 25th at 6:14 am. Nikki is a beautiful baby, with her father's blue eyes and my dark brown hair. The pregnancy went surprisingly well. Nikki was born only two days early and she is (thankfully!) healthy. Jack and I have been thinking about adopting a child from Russia. We aren't sure yet, but we are seriously considering it.
Round Three!
Another two years have passed. Nikki is a happy, energetic toddler who loves to create messes. She's a little concerned about the new addition to our family. Jack and I had another daughter this past month. We named her Cailyn Michelle, or "Lyn". She is the most perfect little angel you could imagine. She was born on September 18th at 4 in the morning. Nikki likes to touch Lyn and she isn't quite sure about her baby sister yet. Jack and I are very excited. We are about two months away from adopting a boy from Russia! Jack had two siblings that were adopted from Russia, so its natural that we would look there first. We are going to adopt Evgeni Nikolai, who is eight years old. Luckily, Jack knows some Russian, so we ought to be able to get by until Evgeni learns English.
Round Four!
Wow! It's been four years already. Seems like yesterday we were welcoming Lyn and Evgeni into the family. Nikki is in first grade. She was so excited to go to school and she has done well and made a lot of friends. Lyn is a very talkative four year old who just realized that she can open the back to to get out into the back yard. Now we have to watch her carefully to make sure she doesn't get out there without anyone knowing. Hopefully, she'll grow out of it soon. Evgeni is twelve and doing great. He has fully adjusted to life in America, though the first three or four months were hard. He is now in sixth grade and has a lot of friends. As a reward for having a great attitude, we purchased Evgeni a purebred Dalmatian puppy. He named her Lil after one of his friends in Russia whom he is now a penpal to. Lil is a rambunctious puppy who loves to get into everything.
Round Five!
Oh boy! Twins! It's only been a year, but a lot has changed. On July 5th Jack and I welcomed Ethan Harper and Riley Christina into the family. They were both born healthy and without complication. Nikki and Lyn are excited about having another brother and sister, but Evgeni really didn't want another sibling. We also heard through the adoption agency that Evgeni has a sixteen year old sister named Katya Irina, or "Kitty". After a long talk with Evgeni, Jack and I have decided to adopt Kitty. We will be getting her in late August. Because of adding three new bodies to our family, Jack and I have decided that we are moving to a bigger house. We found a house literally just down the street that has seven bedrooms! It's perfect for us and we bought it right away.
Round Six!
3 years later and we're still going strong. Jack and I are satisfied with our lives and we wouldn't have them any other way. Jack has retired from his job as a lawyer and now teaches law students. I don't work at the CVS anymore, but I teach classes at the community college on the benefits of foreign adoption. Nikki and Lyn have found a sport that they are both good at--horseback riding! They ride their own separate horses and they do a great job. Lil seemed like she was getting lonely (according to Evgeni) so we adopted a dog from the pound named Pug. Pug is not a Pug, but actually a Golden Retriever and he seems very happy to play with Lil all day long. We adopted Kitty and we found that she is a mathematical genius! How unlikely since Evgeni is horrible at math. We aren't pushing the issue too much because Kitty doesn't like all the attention. Still, she takes advanced college level courses and plans on becoming a real rocket scientist.

Once again...I have to do a double post because it won't let me edit the other one. This time, I'm only doing round seven on here because the rest is in the first post.

Twenty years and here's our family.
Jack-has reached the grand old age of fifty seven!!! He still teaches law at the college and he's published a few books on law and theories and justice.
Me-I'm fifty three!!! I've officially retired because Jack's income is enough for the two of us. I still give occasional lecture on foreign adoption, but mostly I write children's books now that deal with real life issues. I don't get paid much and its not a regular job, but its really something I enjoy doing.
Kitty--is 39! Wow, almost forty! She did great for herself as a rocket scientist and held the top position in NASA for a number of years, but recently resigned to stay at home with her two young children and the three adopted children she and her husband, Mark Grant are getting next month. Kitty's children are 3 and 2 months. They are Keziah Amber (3) and Melanie Skye (2 mo). Keziah is a ballerina and seems to be have the mathematical talent of her mother. She can already add and subtract as well as multiply simple problems. Kitty and Mark are adopting a sibling group from the same Russian orphanage we adopted Kitty and Evgeni from. The children they are getting are; Alexei Pavlo (10), Sergei Maxim (9), and Anna Katerina (6). They hope the children will adjust okay.
Evgeni--now 36! He's done well for himself too. He opened up an animal rehabilitaion center that has all sorts of rare species and animals that are in popular demand in zoos nationwide. Evgeni has a real talent with animals and has been hailed as 'the best of our time'. He never married, but devotes himself fully to his work, which includes researching new medicenes and ways of caring for the animals he rehabilitates.
