I like
Roxanne and Roxana/Roxanna... I don't like the original sp. of
Roxane because in En., it looks too much like Rox-ayn, which is unappealing. I'd use
Roxanne in a heartbeat and
Roxana's pretty too, but too close for sibs. Would depend on the mn. which of the 2 went better w/ it. I've known very few Roxannes and no Roxannas and none of them seemed to go by
Roxie. No sense using
Roxie when
Roxanne is only 2 syls and sounds WAY better. Never even heard of the song until now. I'd be more inclined to think of the movie
Roxanne, which I never got to see, but remember being around. Rox, I can see as a nn, but if you go w/
Roxanne, it's only 2 syls and no longer to say than
Roxie, so if you don't like
Roxie,
Roxanne may be a better choice than
Roxana even though both are quite pretty.
