[Opinions] Jemima
What do you think of Jemima as a name? It means "dove" in Hebrew.

It's Pretty...but I'm sorry I thought of syrup right away.
I love it, but unfortunatly DH does not share my enthusiasm for the name.
A beautiful meaning, but it's all pancakes to me.

I love the name!
I *heart* Jemima...
In fact my first DD will be Xanthe Lyric Jemima (future Dh can take a running jump if he thinks thats going to change ;) I really like the sound, the meaning and the potential nn Jem. I have it as a mn simply because there are other names I like more as fn's, but I really do love Jemima. It's spunky and different.
I know in the US, however, there's a problem with the Aunt Jemima association- someone always brings it up to me. It's not a porblem in Australia, but I think only you can judge wether this would be a problem in your area. Lovely name.

It has a beautiful sound and a wonderful meaning...
However, if you live in the United States, I think the racial connotations are nearly unavoidable.
We've had some pretty awesome discussions about this issue before, so please forgive me for being lazy as I link you to one we had in the past:

You'll find that it's very thorough and helpful.
(Of course, if you don't live in the US, then just ignore everything I said, because I don't think that's an issue anywhere else. :P)

reminds me of Jemima Puddleduck...
I like it and I love the meaning...(m)
However, the racial connotations that come with the name is something I cannot and will not have my child deal with. There's too much baggage to the name to me and I think it has the potential to offend.

I quite like it, my cousin Jemma is sometimes called this by people :)
I love it! Despite the fact that the only Jemima I've known was b**chy.
I always think of Aunt Jemima and her pancakes. Either way, I don't really like the sound of it. It does have spunk, I must admit, but I highly doubt it's something I'd ever use myself.
Very sweet in an old-fashioned, but certainly not old, way. I think it's darling. I've also been liking Jerrica and Jerusha lately.
Love it! So cute!
It was the name of that little girl on "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang", too.
I don't know how it would age, though.
