Go with
Gabriella. It's far less trendy and much more substantial than
Makenzie, and moreover won't date your child to the late 1990s-mid-2000s;
Gabriella won't be 2086's nursing home equivalent of
Bertha or
Gertrude, like
Makenzie undoubtedly will. Also,
Gabriella's actually spelled correctly, unlike
Makenzie.
Misspelling
Mackenzie as
Makenzie with the idea that taking the C out takes out the "
Mac- means 'son of'" doesn't work. It just makes the name look even more super-trendy in addition to it looking horribly misspelled to me.
Mackenzie means "son of
Kenneth", period.
