The Modern Hebrew word for "diamond" is "yahalom" (in the bible this word just means "precious stone", Ex 28,18; 39,11 and Ez 28,13). The biblical word for diamond is "shamir". This can also mean "thorn" or "nail" (Jer 17,1; Ez 3,9; Zach 7,12).
