[Facts] Re: Diamante
in reply to a message by Andy
Thank you!
Could Shamira be the Hebrew name of a woman named Diamante in your opinion? Or would it be something else? My parents think it could be Yekara or Pninah, but they don't really mean 'diamond', so yeah. (Diamante was my mom's great grand mother). :)

I forgot …Only few people, I'm afraid, would think of "diamond", when they hear the name SHAMIRA, as the usual meaning is "protector" (from "shamar" = "to watch over")Andy ;—)

Well, I think SHAMIRA would be the closest you can get. As you say, YEKARA and PNINAH have the same idea of someone very dear and precious, but the don't mean "diamond". On the other hand the associations with "diamond" may also include someone very tough.Hope this helps.Andy ;—)
