I like:
Maira Vivienne Zahraa (but prefer
Zahra)
Alyssia (and
Elysia,
Alesia,
Alessia, etc.)
Kiera Nihira (I haven't actually seen this before but I like it)
Anita (it's probably dated but I think it could come back. Especially in places that use the "t" -- in my accent "
Anita ___" is used as a joke name for "I need a ___", but that's not a problem in places where they actually say it with a "t". Plus you can always go by
Ani or
Annie. And
Anita is a name in a lot of languages.)
Elyse (I'm surprised this is dying out -- I thought it would be popular along with
Ellie,
Ella,
Eliana, etc.)
Indiana (takes a certain kind of person to pull it off, but it's cool and Indi/Indy is a good nickname)
Saira
Don't like or dislike:
Deema
Tianna (it's fine but I prefer
Tiana)
Maddy (I'm very neutral on this, and surprised it's dying out. I don't like it as a full name but I would have expected it to still be a common nickname even if the full names change in relative popularity.
Madison,
Madeline, Madeliene,
Madelyn,
Maddalena, etc.)
Don't like / I understand why it's dying out:
Flo - stolen by commercials. I can't even remember what the commercials were for but I remember "
Flo". Also 'flow' can be an awkward thing for your name to sound like.
Latifa - I only think of
Queen Latifah. I live under a rock but I still know that name so it must be a strong association :P
Peggy - it's only a name for old people, and it's too easy to make dirty jokes with 'peg' in the name
Bailey - it already sounds a bit dated on a girl, but I would like it to get more popular for boys.
Renee - not a bad name but definitely dated, maybe it will come back
Drew - never understood
Drew on a girl, it's just a whiny-sounding nickname for
Andrew to me
Macey - this name sounds corporate to me, maybe because of the store
Macy's?
