There's something off about the name, something that bothered me, and I was hoping that posting here would help me figure it out. It did, thankfully.
Manipura hit the nail on the head.
It's like Valerie - a gorgeous name that ended up dated. on one hand I see Vanessa and Valerie is glamorous 1920s women, on the other I see middle-aged women who are grumpy or trying too hard to hold on to their looks.
