I used to really dislike
Maia and
Maya mainly because I never knew whether to pronounce them MY-ah or MAY-ah. Now I've trained my brain to recognise both spellings as MY-ah which it what I prefer and I'm much more content with the names. So content as it happens that
Maia is on my long list for girls and featured fleetingly in my Top Ten.
I still like it... maybe as a middle name one day if I have a lot of daughters...
