Have you heard of "Jared's", the jewelry store?
I couldn't figure out why Crystal and Jared seemed so perfect together, then my brain went "He went to Jared's!" (the slogan).
So, yeah... in my head Jared and crystals totally make sense together.
So the names just match well.

Lol! Never even accord to me. I have heard of the Jared jewrely company but Still like the name. In fact, i'm more than certain the name came first well before the company.
I also had thought about "Crystal & Mark" but I already have another character named Markus. I could still probably use it
I duno, perhaps I'll make it that their parents worked at a jewelry store haha!
